Fred Ivory

Fred Ivory

This remembrance from Carol Buonincontri:

Fred Ivory hailed from Brooklyn...(could have been Queens though) He was very charming and had a quick wit. (ala NYer) He was the lead in our freshman production of Woyzeck He had tons of blond curly hair... and, yes, I thought him adorable..

This rembrance from Mary Dino:

Fred was a dear friend of mine, and I really like the things Carol wrote. He hailed from Brooklyn, and his mom thought he was the nicest person she knew. He led the class in the Freshman Workshop and he led in terms of morale building and generosity of spirit, too. He always smelled like baby powder, even after hours of movement classes or rehearsals.

Not necessarily for public consumption, but a fun anecdote: He was great friends with John Cocciaro and sometimes, in the middle of the night, the doorbell would ring in (Mary) Jo's and my dorm room during freshman-sophomore year. It would be John and Fred with a portable TV so that we could watch the Bob Hope movie that was on that night! But he was always doing spontaneous stuff. One morning Patrick and I went to the car over at Bond Street -- it was very early! There's this guy, disheveled and dirty, laying across the hood of the car. We approached not quite sure what to do, and ... of course....it was Fred! I think about him often.
